Dr. Cappello will take every precaution possible to prevent tooth damage and decay from happening in the first place. However, even with regular dental checkups and a solid oral hygiene routine, at some point in your life you may need to get a dental restoration. Doing so could mean the difference between saving and losing an injured tooth. Contact us today to schedule an appointment with us and see if you need restorative dentistry.
Fillings are typically placed in cavities as well as other forms of minor dental damage. We use composite resin instead of metal amalgam so that the results look and feel more like a natural tooth. The process is simple. We numb the area around the tooth and remove the damaged tissue before applying composite resin that has been shaded to match the enamel.
Afterwards, a curing light is used to harden the material in place.
A dental crown gives us a way to completely repair a missing tooth. To make sure that you can smile proudly once the crown is in place, we will use high quality tooth colored materials to make the restoration. It takes two appointments to place a crown; the first visit is for preparing the teeth and taking impressions. You will wear a temporary crown in the days before the permanent version arrives at our dental office.
